Our School takes pride in the high standards which we expect in all aspects of school life. We believe that a high standard of dress of our pupils is a reflection of this. Our school uniform is as below.
The basic uniform is:
- Grey trousers, shorts, skirt or pinafore
- Navy blue polo shirt
- Red sweatshirt or cardigan
- Red check dresses and grey shorts may also be worn in summer
- Dark shoes
- PE Kit – red t-shirt, navy blue shorts and trainers
Between October half term and February half term, a winter uniform must be worn, long trousers, tights, warm coats etc.
Children are normally expected to wear uniform for school visits.
There is no expectation that uniform should be embroidered with the school logo. Plain garments from supermarkets and high street shops are perfectly acceptable. Embroidered garments can be ordered from our new supplier, Etika (https://www.etikauniforms.co.uk/st-margarets-ce-primary-school-dh1/ ) Etika provides sustainably sourced and ethically produced uniform.
All items of clothing should be appropriate for school wear. Trousers, shorts, skirts and pinafores should be of an appropriate uniform style. Jeans, leggings or denim skirts, high heeled shoes and shirts with a logo on other than the school logo are not allowed. Coloured hair, nail varnish, hair gel, make up etc. are only permitted on party days and for special events. Children are required to have their hair tied up during sports, when using the school’s climbing or play equipment, participating in OPAL activities, or playing any sports-related games. While we encourage you to send your child to school with their hair tied up, if they prefer to wear it down, please ensure they bring a hair tie to school so they can secure it when needed.
Haircuts should be appropriate for school (no extreme haircuts). Hair bands and scrunchies should be simple and in the school colours.
Jewellery, including earrings, may NOT be worn in school. (A small watch is permitted).
We would encourage you to buy the Iron-on name labels so that all items of lost property can easily be returned to their owner.
